Water pollution is simply any harmful thing that is added to water. There are many causes of water pollution, most of which lie in human activities. These include domestic waste, industrial discharges into rivers, lakes and streams, pesticides... Other known cause is leaking underground tanks. The polluted water can damage sea ecosystems and cause illness like cholera and typhoid fever. The unhealthy water has led to the deaths of more than 14,000 people every day.
Land pollution is the damage of the earth’s soil surfaces. It is the results of human activities, such as careless disposal of wastes, overmining of minerals and wrong use of land for planting. All of these will reduce the amount of land suitable for agricultural production and ' contribute to global food shortages. Land pollution also leads to all kinds of diseases such as cancer, heart disease and breathing problems and brings about natural disasters such as flash fioods and landslides. Air pollution is also the effect of human activities where dangerous chemicals are released into the air. This results mainly from the coal powered factories and motor vehicles. High air pollution Ievels can bring discomfort to humans. In the long term, it can cause serious breathing problems like lung cancer and heart disease.
