Globalisation creates conditions for Widening international exchanges and strengthening mutual understanding between nations. It expands Cultural, educational and scientific cooperation between countries. It encourages the process of modernisation and the enrichment of national culture. However, I believe the disadvantages of this outweigh its advantages.

Globalisation creates the possible danger of diminishing national culture and exerts a negative impact on the preservation of national identity. Through globalisation and policies of reform and opening-up, different concepts, lowered ethical standards, individualistic lifestyles and harmful cultural products can be easily imported into a country. At present, modern information technology which is mainly controlled by the US is hour by hour intensively disseminating US ideology, ways of life and culture across the world. Even US food is promoted, so some people consider globalisation as “global Americanisation”.

During the process of economic globalisation, inequality between developed and developing countries has been increasing, and the gap between the rich and the poor has become wíder. Globalisation is supposed to assist developed countries. Globalisa1 tion does not pose equal interests and risks to all nations. For these reasons, globalisation is a fierce and complicated struggle in both cultural and ideological fields. As the proverb says: “Fire is a good servant, but a bad masterf" We have taken the initiative in global economic integration but also have to take the initiative in fighting to prevent our distinct culture from crossbred phenomena.
