The Brothers Grimm.

Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm are the two young men from Germany. They were among the best-known storytellers for children. Today, their fairy tales are available in more than 160 languages.

Jacob and Wilhelm developed their euriosity and love to folktales when they were university students. The brothers loved these stories ofadventure and magic, so they started to collect traditional folktales from storytellers in Germany. Many of these tales were similar to stories told in other countries.

Between 1812 and 1857, the Grimm brothers’ collection was reVised and republished many times. Their tales reflected German traditional life and beliefs. For example, forests are considered a dangerous place in Germany, and in the Grimms’ stories, witches and other magical beings often live in the forest. The Grimms’ fairy tales were primarily written for adults, so many of the early tales are dark and a little scary. Later, they softened the content and also added drawings to make the stories more suitable for children. Each of the Grimm stories still has a moral: work hard, be good, and listen to your parents.
