In the modern world, many people hold different views about whether parents should allow their children to study abroad. In my opinion, it can be better if young people are sent to foreign countries to study.

On the one hand, studying in their own country can be taken into consideration because of its advantages. The most important benefit of studying in their home country is that students do not have to face financial problems. It is true that tuition fees and the cost of living such as accommodation, food and bills are lower than those in foreign nations, so they find it easier to live and study in their country. Furthermore, when attending university or college at home, they can avoid homesickness and loneliness. If children study overseas, they might feel bored and lonely, which leads to a big culture shock.

On the other hand, there are numerous reasons why children should go abroad to study. Firstly, they can gain higher academic qualifications when studying overseas because a large number of prestigious universities such as Cambridge or Oxford in the UK provide professional teachers who are experts in their fields and better courses. Therefore, students could have more opportunities to find a wellpaid job in their home country or get promoted in their career path after graduation. Secondly, living and studying in other countries may help children learn a foreign language such as English or French, which not only allows them to communicate with natives effectively but also helps them understand the cultures of other countries. Finally, if students are sent to foreign countries for their studies, they will be likely to become mature and independent. Experiencing new things including cultures and customs would be beneficial to their later lives because they learn many useful things.

In conclusion, although going to school in learners’ home country could bring some benefits, I believe that students are more likely to learn more things which seem to help them better prepare for their future when studying abroad.
