Pollution! How to reduce it? Làm thế nào để hạn chế ô nhiễm?

The world that we live in now is badly aifected by pollution The rivers and seas are polluted. The air is polluted. The land is polluted. Consequently the things we drink, breathe and eat are all polluted.

This sad state of affairs does no good for our health and well-being. Pollution is virtually destroying the place we live in -Earth. If pollution is allowed to go on then we will surely destroy ourselves too. We ought to value our planet for it is the only place we can live in. If we destroy it then we are also finished.

Eliminating pollution completely is impossible. So it is important that we try to keep pollution to a minimum. There are many things that we can do to reduce it.

The very first thing for everyone is to stop dumping rubbish anywhere they like. Throwing rubbish seems to be the favourite pastime of everyone. So we see piles of rubbish on road sides, in ditches and drains, in lanes and often on main roads too.

What rubbish do people throw away? Empty cans bottles, sweet wrappers, plastic bags full of smelly stuff, dead animals, broken toys, broken TV sets, food, old cars and kitchen sinks are items that can be found in the rubbish dumps. Perhaps we could recycle the things we use instead of simply throwing them away. We could, for example, reuse glass, metals and plastics. We could cook only what is necessary instead of throwing what we could not eat. We could keep our cars and sinks in good working order instead of abusing them as many of us do now. Then we should have less rubbish to throw. Consequently there would be less rubbish dumps and less pollution.

Motor vehicles are a major cause of air pollution. They emit much exhaust fumes. In big cities this pollution has reached levels that pose a threat to the health of the city dwellers. Some cities have already advised their residents to wear gas masks when they venture onto the streets. The only way to reduce this pollution is obviously to reduce the number of vehicles on the roads. This is easier said than done for very few people would want to sacrifice the convenience of having one’s own transport.

Factories and industrial plants are larger responsible for pollution of the air, water and land. The waste they discharge into the rivers and land destroy both. The smoke they emit pollute the air. What they must to is to find ways to reduce their wastes. Also they have to treat their wastes so that they are less harmful. Then they have to find ways to reduce the smoke they emit. All these things are required if we are to see any reduction of pollution. At the rate things are going however, we see increase in pollution instead.

Whether we can really reduce pollution and thus save our planet is up to us. Pollute it more and we shall perish.

What do you intend to follow when you grow up! Say why you chose this career.

When we were small, our parents took care of our needs and sent us to school so that we could learn and develop our knowledge and skill to become useful members of the society. To do so we first need to understand ourselves our abilities and interests in order to plan and prepare for an occupation when our school is terminated.

For instance, I have always been interested in repairing things. In my spare time, I fix my own and my friends’ motorbikes and help my mother (to) maintain clocks, stoves and other equipment in our home. Any time I have a chance, I stop at a garage to watch the mechanics locate engine troubles and make repairs. Sometimes, some of the mechanics stop and discuss their work with me. A few have even taken time to show me how to fix certain things. I enjoy these visits to the garage. They give me an opportunity to look at various kinds of tools and pieces of equipment. The mechanics seem very congenial and interested in their work. It seems that I learn quickly.

I received average marks in language, science, civics and other academic subjects. My best grades are in courses involving shopwork and mechanics work.

Every now and then my parents and I discuss what I might be able to do after I finish high school. It is almost impossible for them to send me to the university because there are six children in my family and my parents do not have enough money to finance my education.

Taking into consideration all of these aspects, I think it would be best for me to select the field I like and do well in -automobile mechanics.

If I have an opportunity to get my training in auto mechanics and start working, I will try to save my money so that I can eventually own a garage.

I think a career in auto mechanics will certainly help me (to) become a satrsfied and productive member of the sociely.

Is the only thing people are interested in today earning more money? Discuss.

We live in a materialistic society and are trained from our earliest years to be acquisitive. Our possessions, “mine” and “yours” are clearly labeled from early chíldhood. When we grow old enough to earn a living, it does not surprise us to discover that success is measured in terms of the money you earn. We spend the whole of our lives keeping up with our neighbours, the Joneses. If we buy a new television set, Jones is bound to buy a bigger and better one. The most amusing thing about this game is that the Joneses and all the neighbours who are struggling frantically to keep up with them are spending borrowed money kindly provided, at a suitable rate of interest, of course, by friendly banks, insurance companies, etc. ..

It is not only affluent societies that people are obsessed with the idea of making more money. Consumer goods are desirable everywhere and modern industry deliberately sets out to create new markets. Gone are the days when industrial goods were made to last forever. The Wheels of industry must be kept turning.

This materialistic outlook has seriously infiuenced education. Fewer and fewer young people these days acquire knowledge only for its own sake. Every course of studies must lead somewhere he is to a bigger wage packet. The demand for skilled personnel far exceeds the supply and big companies compete with each other to recruit students before they have completed their studies. Tempting salaries and “fringe benefits” are offered to them. Recruiting tactics of this kind have led to the “brain drain”, the process by which highly skilled people offer their services to the highest bidder. 'Ihe wealthier nations deprive their poorer neighbours of their most able citizens. While common is worshipped as never before, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

ln your opinion, which job is the most interesting? Why

ln your opinion, which job is the most interesting? Why

In my opinion, the choice of a career is the most important. It determines one’s whole life. Therefore after careful consideration I prefer to become a tourist guide.

Being a tourist guide I can carry out the dreams I’ve fostered for years.

First of all this job sounds quite tailor-made to my ability. In the contact with foreigners I can regularly improve this practical foreign language. I think that only through long practice will I be able to drill my speaking and listening comprehension skills in English.

Then through travelling, my knowledge is increasingly developed and broadened. A Vietnamese saying says:

“You had better go for an excursion to know the places here and there. Staying at home with your mother, you can never be wise”.

I’ll know the country and the people thoroughly wherever I’ve set foot on.

Then while guiding the tourists in their sightseeing of beautiful landscapes and historical vestiges of our country, I’ll have a chance to tell them about our age-old culture and our courageous and unyielding struggles against foreign invaders.

Finally, the more I travel, the more I feel attached to Nature and therefore my love for my country increases. Never has the following adage:

“Oh, my friend gourd, love his zucchini, Although we’ re of different species, we’re on the same treiiis”

Imprinted such a deep meaning in my heart!

What means of traveling you choose when you go to travel?.

When you are on holiday, and intend to go to the seaside or travel abroad as a tourist, you should first of all decide on the means of travelling.

You can travel by train, by ship, by car and of course, by plane.

Travelling by plane is more comfortable, more convenient and much quicker than any other method. But not everybody likes it. Some people say they do not see very much of the country they go to. Trains are good enough for them. They enjoy the movement and the excitement of railway stations, the shouts of porters pulling and pushing luggage along the platforms and the sight of trains ready to start.

Some holiday-makers are all for traveling by sea. Of course, one can watch the sun rise and set, which is an unforgettable sight. For people who get seasick, a sea voyage is out the question.

If you go by car, you may spend part of your holiday moving from place to place. You can stop wherever you like.

Whatever means of traveling you choose, it is advisable to book accommodation in advance. You can book tickets yourself or do that through telephone.

Country life. Cuộc sống ở nông thôn.

In the country we live in the bosom of nature while in a town we are surrounded by man-made things and so it has little contact with nature.

In the country most of the people live in “Thatched” houses. The green fields stretch out on all sides, flowers are in their full bloom, birds sing on the trees and other beautiful aspects of nature greet the eye, the ear. Therefore, country life is full of charms. The rippling river, the grazing cows, the playing children and the setting sun behind the clouds are great sources of pleasure to the mind of a man.

The villagers always lead a healthy life due to fresh air and fresh food. Again, they are very contended people because they have few demands. No doubt, country life has some disadvantages but even then it is better than town life.

ln your opinion, how do the pollution problems effect today? Discuss some reasons for its existence. Give some solutions overcome.

Every day on the radio, on TV, and in the newspapers, we hear, see, or read about many pollution problems in the world. Because of this, we must think about these problems. We must also try to find a solution for them. Our lives depend on this.

Air pollution is the first kind. It mostly comes from fumes released from cars, airplanes, and trains. Also, factories dump waste everywhere, even in the city where many people are living. Public safety does not concern the factory owners, who must know that people don’t want to live in polluted environment that is dangerous for their health. Nobody in this world wants to breathe dirty air.

The second pollution problem is sea pollution. Many people earn their living from fishing in the sea, and the fish they catch feed many people. Their lives depend on the fish. But the sea has become so polluted from oil spills and factory wastes that the fish are dying. This pollution is not only killing the fish, but is also aíĩecting those people who depend on the sea for food.

Seldom do you find a place nowadays that is not polluted. This problem is growing more difficult every day. We must find a good solution that makes the world a better place to live. A good way to keep these dangerous fumes away from the people must be found. Also, programs about pollution should be shown on TV. When people understand the bad effect of pollution on the human body, maybe they will stop doing those things that make the air or the sea polluted. Also, we should plant trees, which are very useful for the land. In conclusion, I hope we can find a solution for every kind of pollution in the world.

Would you prefer to live in a traditional house or in a modern apartment building? Use specific reasons and details to support your choice.

If I were asked where I would I prefer to live in a traditional house or in a modern apartment building, I think, I would hesitate to answer. This question, from my point of view, is a controversial one. In the following paragraphs I will analyze both these options and present my view.

From the one side, living in a modern apartment building brings many benefits. First of all, it is cheaper than living in a traditional house and paying different kinds of fees I am not familiar with. For instance, my friend, who recently bought a new house for his family, said me that it is much easier to live in an apartment and I tend to believe him when I see his bills. So, living in an apartment will defmitely help me to save some money. Second of all, since I live alone I do not need a big house with many rooms. I just need a bedroom and a living room where I can take my guests and have my work place. Another important benefit of living in an apartment is that I will not have to buy much cumbersome furniture in order to furnish all rooms.

However, living in a modern apartment building can have a few disadvantages, too. Firstly, it can be noisy and, secondly, I will not have any privacy outside my apartment, for example, in a pool or gym.

From the other side, living in a traditional house has some advantages too. For example, I can have my own pool, gym and a garden where I can relax and be alone. However, living in a house is usually more expensive and requires more time to mamtam a house. For instance, I will most likely have to hire someone to mow my lawn and clean my pool not to mention all household tasks inside the house.

In conclusion, I think at this moment I would prefer to live in an apartment. It can help me save some money and allows me to spend more time studying because I will not have to do many household tasks

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Advertising can tell you a lot about a country. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Bạn đồng ý hay không đồng ý phát biểu sau? Quảng cáo có thể cho bạn biết nhiều về một đất nước. Sử dụng những lý do và ví dụ cụ thể để hỗ trợ cho câu trả lời của bạn.

Every country has its own culture and traditions. There is no doubt that an advertising campaign conducted in Russia will not have the same effect here in the United States. Let’s take for example advertisements of food and restaurants.

A huge amount of fast food stands suggest their services for breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper here in Houston. The competition is very strong. Every week you get in your mail-box an envelope with different types of discounts in exchange for visiting them or ordering pizza. When you watch TV, you are also from time to time invited to visit a restaurant in order to taste some delicious food. It is not because it is easy to make money from cooking but because the demand for such service is high. First of all, people like to go out sometimes to have dinner with friends. Second of all, it is often impossible to drive home for lunch. It can be time consuming.

As for Russia, it is a great tradition to have dinner at home with the family and go to the restaurant for big holidays. Additionally fast food is not popular in Russia. So you will see advertisements of yogurts, coffee, dairy products and juice instead of restaurants and fast food stands.

In conclusion, I would like to add that in order to succeed in advertising campaign especially on the international market, a company must know the traditions, language and history of the country.

Bài luận tiếng Anh giới thiệu về Phú Quốc.

After only 50 minute flight from Ho Chi Minh City, you will set foot on the tropical Daradise of Vietnam and the world: Phu Quoc Island.
Bài luận tiếng Anh giới thiệu về Phú Quốc.
The island has a roughly triangular shape with a north-south length of 50km and a west-east width of 25km. A great part of the terrain is filled with beautiful sandy beaches, but there is a mountainous region with 99 peaks, among which the Peak of Chua Mountain is the tallest one at 603 meters. Due to Phu Quoc's location in the Gulf of Thailand, its climate is sub-equatorial with a temperate weather all year round, making trips to Phu Quoc possible any time in the year. However, the best time to travel to this island is during the dry season, from November until March, when the sky is blue and clear and the rains are away.

Phu Quoc is most famous for its the cuisines and a natural wonderful coastline. The most famous food of Phu Quoc is fish sauce, which has become quite popular all over Vietnam and the world. Besides, another thing worth trying there is the spicy yet interesting black pepper. However, the factor that will definitely intrigue you to visit Phu Quoc is its untouched coastline featuring several heavenly beaches. They have yet to be explored to their full ability, but this fact might be actually positive as it gives the shores a romantic beauty that you can find in nowhere else in the world.

In the Mekong Delta, Long Dinh village of Tien Giang province is famous for its traditional craft of weaving flowered mats. The mat's high quality makes them popular domestically, and they are also exported to markets worldwide including Korea, Japan and America.

ln spite of its well-established reputation for this traditional craft, mat weaving only started here some 50 years ago. It was first introduced by immigrants from Kim Son, a famous mat weaving village in the northern province of Ninh Binh. However, the technique of weaving sedge mats in Long Dinh, as compared with other places in the South, is somewhat different. Long Dinh branded mats are thicker and have more attractive colours and patterns.

Weaving sedge mats is similar to growing rice. Long Dinh mat production mainly occurs during the dry season, from January to April. Weavers have to work their hardest in May and June, otherwise, when the rainy season starts in July, they will have to put off finishing their Products till the next dry season. No matter how much work it requires, Long Dinh mat producers stick with this occupation, as it brings a higher income than growing rice.

This trade provides employment for thousands of local labourers. At present, nearly 1,000 households in Long Dinh village live on weaving mats. To better meet market demands, Long Dinh mat weavers have created more Products in addition to the traditional sedge mats. Particularly, they are producing a new type of mat made from the dried stalks of water hyacinth, a common material in the Mekong Delta.

Thanks to the pianning and further investment, the mat weaving occupation has indeed brought in more income for local residents. Their living standards have improved considerably, resulting in better conditions for the whole village.

Bài luận tiếng Anh nói về cuộc sống ở Thành Phố.

Unlike life in the countryside which is often considered to be simple and traditional, life in the city is modern and complicated. People, from different regions move to the cities in the secretaries of having a better life for them and their children. The inhabitants in city work as secretaries, businessmen, teachers, government workers, factory workers and even street vendors or construction workers.

The high cost of living requires city dwellers, especially someone with low income, to work harder or to take a part-time job. For many people, an ordinary day starts as usual by setting up in the early morning to do exercise in public parks. Preparing for a full day of working and studying, then travellỉng along crowed boulevards or narrow streets filled with motor scooters and returning home after a busy day.

They usually live in large houses, or high-rise apartment blocks or even in a small rental room equipped with modem facilities, like the Internet, telephone, television, and so on. lndustrialization and modernization as well as global integration have big impact on lifester in the cities. The most noticeable impact is the Western style of clothes. The “ao dai” Vietnamese traditional clothes are no longer regularly worn in Vietnamese women’s daily life. lnstead, jeans, T-shirts and fashionable clothes are widely preferred.

The reason for your study of English and the way you've been learning it.

It can’t be denied that today English is the most widely used language in the world. It has been used in all spheres of public activity. Because of its importance I have chosen English as the second languages after my mother tongue.

In fact, English has become the international language. If I master this language I can go to any continent in the world: Asia, Europe, Africa, America and Australia. Everywhere people speak English. Because of its popularity, many books are written in English. So one of my ways to improve English is reading English books on a variety of subjects: science, sociology, anthropology, geology, entomology, political science and so on.
The reason for your study of English and the way you've been learning it.

If I read books on one or two subjects only my vocabulary will not increase fast enough. Therefore I try my best to accumulate as much vocabulary as possible by reading about different subjects because each subject has its own vocabulary. The more subjects I read in English the more words I can acquire to express my ideas and thoughts with great ease and satisfaction.

I have dreamed of becoming a capable tourist guide one day. In order to realize this hope, I should read more books on traveling and learn more vocabulary on different aspects. Standing before one of my historical vestiges, how can I tell my tourists about the history of my country and the courageous struggles of my people during the period of founding the nation and defending it against foreign invaders if I am not able to obtain any knowledge, any words on this domain?

After French, English is a living language because of its vitality and lucidity. Thanks to these characteristics, English has been used in all important meetings and conferences or in summit talks between leaders of powerful countries. To acquire correct and fiuent English I should learn the basic rules of English Grammar, and practise speaking English regularly with my friends and my teachers. “Practice makes perfect”. I should frequently listen to native English speakers through video, television and radio. Whenever I find a new word whose pronunciation I don’t know I should look it up in the “Every man’s English Pronouncing Dictionary" by Daniel Jones, a very precious dictionary for English beginners.

Being aware of the preeminence of the English language in every aspect of man’s activity, I have been learning it with great zeal and avidity.

Da Lat, the honeymoon capital of the country. Đà Lạt, thủ đô trăng mật của đất nước.

Da Lat, the honeymoon capital of the country. Đà Lạt, thủ đô trăng mật của đất nước.

More than 1,220 meters above sea level, the highland city of Dalat basks in a region of magnificent lakes, waterfalls, and a 2,135 meter mountain peak to the north. Once called the "summer capital" Dalat has a mild climate year round (16°C) and is reminiscent of the alpine areas of Europe with its pine forests rolling hills, and small lakes. The sky in the high plateau is a deep blue. Some of the many lakes in the area are Xuan Huong, Than Tho (Sorrowful Sighs). Me Linh, Van Kiep, and Suoi Vang (Golden Brook).
Da Lat, the honeymoon capital of the country. Đà Lạt, thủ đô trăng mật của đất nước.

Dalat was founded around 1920 by French physician, Alexander Yersin, who felt cool climate would make an ideal therapeutic retreaI for his European patients who suirered from the debilitating effects of the tropical climate. The area was originally inhabited only by highland ethnic minorities.

As the French begin settling these areas, they brought in Vietnamese as servants, merchants, transporters, and laborers. The French built homes reminiscent of alpine cottages and initiated experimental agriculture programs for growing rubber, coffee, and European vegetables. After 1954, many Vietnamese Catholics settled in the Dalat area, and established more experimental farms. The Vietnamese population in the area gradually increased.

In addition to its agricultural importance, the natural beauty of Dalat soon made it the honeymoon capital of the country. Even now, newlyweds enjoy walking among the gently rolling hills and having picnics on the rocks near the falls or beside the romantic lakes. Strolling or horse riding around the lake is an invigorating experience.

Ho Chi Minh City in the future. Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh trong tương lai

The city we are living in has been called “The Pearl of the Far East”. After the Liberation Day, Sai Gon was named Ho Chi Minh City where many years ago, President Ho Chi Minh started his journey abroad, seeking for the national salvation from the yoke of foreign invaders.

Now our government is trying to ameliorate the face of HCM city so that in the future it would be one of the most modern cities in the South East Asia, worthy to bear the name of our venerable leader.
Ho Chi Minh City in the future. Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh trong tương lai

At present, in fact, HCM City still has disadvantageous and backward features. It is a narrow and crowded city. We have to live night and day in a suífocating atmosphere. Sometimes we feel that there isn’t enough fresh air for us to breathe. Almost all roads are crammed with assorted kinds of vehicles: cars, lorries, handcarts, pushcarts, wheelbarrows, taxis, motorbikes, bicycles and pedi-cabs. There have been serious trafflc accidents, especially in the rush hours. Traffic jams are, therefore, inevitable. As a result, it takes the city dwellers lot of time to reach their destinations and they frequently come to their destinations late.

Living in such a backward and inconvenient city, all of us hope to live in a more comfortable and modern city. Realízing the city dwellers’ well-founded hope, the government has decided to have a new city redesigned totally suitably to modern style of living of the city residents.

HCM city in the future will meet all urgent needs of everybody. There will be no private houses, no private gardens, no slum areas huddled along ill-smelling canals. Blocks of spacious and modern flats, fully equipped, will be built in private areas, not far from schools and markets. Pupils won’t have to cross busy streets to go to schools.

Housewives can walk to their shopping centers. Cars and motorbikes won’t be necessary for them. 'Ihe communication system will be upgraded and improved. Streets won’t be fiooded in the rainy season any more. Buying and selling on the pavements will be strictly prohibited.

Living in such a modern city we are no longer worried about trafflc jams and accidents. We’ll be happy to live in a city of high civilization and modernity.

Is necessary to learn English? Bài luận tiếng Anh nói về việc Có cần thiết học tiếng Anh không?

Nowadays English is spoken by most of the people throughout the world. It becomes an international language. Therefore it’s necessary for all of us to learn it: it is of great benefit to us all in every aspect.
Is necessary to learn English? Bài luận tiếng Anh nói về việc Có cần thiết học tiếng Anh không?

From intellectual point of view, we learn English to understand masterpieces written in English or translated into English. Shakespeare, Milton, Pope, William Wordsworth, Byron and Shelley are typical figures in English literature that is worth reading and learning. We can also enjoy interesting French novels by reading their English translation.

Besides the precious literature treasure, the knowledge of English also enables us to specialize in modern sciences and technical problems.

From political point of view, in our diplomatic relations with other countries, knowledge of English language is a sine qua non condition. As a result of fact, high rank government offlcials are required to master this living language.

Despite its puzzling pronunciation the English language is the favourite language of educated men because it brings them lots of favourable opportunities in their lives.
